Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs Prologue

Okay so the very moment you start in Elite Dangerous you are going to be set at a station, in high security space, and you will have been loaned a Sidewinder, with some ship equipment (Pulse lasers, light alloy armour, shields etc.) Someone has also deposited 1000 credits into your bank account. Not a bad way to start life.

Now don’t think that they gave you the cheapest piece of rubbish ship to begin with… The Sidewinder has it short falls but it still has some unique features which will help you start. It has everything you need to start to earn credits. and your going to make around 200,000 credits in this bird before you sell her so you better start to like her. She can also out-turn the majority of ships out there. She has very little mass is up to the job for small scale pirating. Now, in my Pirate Logs I will be dealing with tactics but just to give you a little insight as to what your going to be doing with this ship is heading into space and waiting. You are going to be a “pick pocket”. In and out as fast as you can. Your going to learn how to get cargo from these dudes. Pick it up and then leg it while under fire. The small cargo hold is ideal for preventing you being to greedy with an underpowered ship and getting your ass handed to you in smouldering rubble.

In this ship your going to be able to take extremely high risks with the smallest loss available in the game. Seriously, If you are destroyed now trying to earn some booty it will cost you around 28 credits to get your ship back. Make use of this as soon it is going to start costing real credits for insurance claims.

So my Pirate Logs are going to guide you through the beginning until you are proficient enough to go out, steal and kill if necessary, to get your plunder. Trade it in and upgrade your life and ship.

Trust me when I say starting out is going to be the hardest struggle for credits, but later on the intensity or possibly losing all that you have worked so hard for will end up being more of a struggle and dilemma. You will need to learn when to just call it off and bug out.

So in these logs I am going to break it down into manageable sections for you.

  • Ship Equipment

  • Navigation

  • Tactics and Targets

  • Interdiction

  • Ethics

  • Power Play

This may be added to in the future when I have fine tuned my pirate skills with relevant information for you.

So that is it for this, I suppose you could call it, a prologue…. The videos will start soon.
