FALCON BMS: 2 VERSUS 3 | AGAINST THE ODDS

Literally thrown together at the last minuet A.S and I go up against 3 in an ACM exercise. I am rusty and have only flown in 2 v 2 capacity with A.S maybe twice ever. Communication was key and although I couldn't focus, build a picture whilst holding S.A on 3 bandits and put my jet in an optimum position, A.S got me there every time. His situational awareness is outstanding. Flying with him in BMS or IL-2 is always a pleasure. Our expected outcome is to be slaughtered.... but just by good comms, and a lot of lady luck..... we took the winnings 5-0.

Flight deep into enemy territory. Objective is to destroy enemy sam sites in Italy. Yes... I'm flying red side. We have the odds stacked against us.... limited munitions, limited fuel, and limited communications in the hills. A mission to remove enemy vehicles from the border of Norway in the North. I am flying as wingman to Kaos (Creator of the Polar Vortex Campaign). The mission is not straight forward. We are intercepted in the target area, we loose our TARCAP and are left to defend and also commit to our primary job of removing the vehicles which were fast approaching friendly forces.... The weather was not good and we struggled to lase out targets whilst also being hit hard on fuel with winds pushing up to 80kts......


We did it though.... this is very condensed.... we were up a long time working the target area.

FALCON BMS: ONE BROKEN JET (SA-16)

Deep Strike into enemy territory. It's tough enough just getting into target with the SAMS and the threat of enemy air assets deliberatly hunting for us.... Almost went well until I did something stupid....

Interesting mission where we go out to interdict a battalion of enemy ground forces which are surrounded but not being destroyed by blue forces. We go in to delicately erradicate them. Meanwhile...an sa-2 sam site went live complicating our mission objective.

FALCON BMS - INTERDICTION

Mission to prevent hostile mechanised infantry forcing themselves South towards 'no mans land' and the front lines.... We go up in f-16 block 50's to work the area.... we did not expect air defences and it was a huge thorn in our side to completing our mission.....

FALCON BMS: BOMB OFF - BLK30 LIMITED MUNITIONS

On a bad weather strike with limited munitions (no harms, no IFF, no stand off weapons) heading to remove an enemies air defense system which holds strong...... Supports available is F-15's on TARCAP.

Mission to fly to Sarajevo and to seek and destroy targets of opportunity.... I managed to find a prize target... an SA-10 missile defense system. Fortunately a growler is with us to jam any potential threats so we can do our job.....

Burning Stalingrad in the background....

Been flying a lot in IL-2 Lately and have been really enjoying it.... nice shot of me egressing and passing Stalingrad which is on fire in the background.......

If there is one thing I wish they would sort out it is the visibility and popping...... spotting bandits or friendlies is a mission all in itself.... not very realistic to what you see out of a cockpit window.... WW2 pilots claim to see and be able to start ID'ing a bandit from 5 miles.....

Love the sim though....

A fast and aggressive low level strike on air defences near the border.... SA-2 and SA-3 sites are target and all of this done under the nose of an SA-10 in the East....

A nice chilled out NOE flight through the mountains to target where we destroy a radar site which will prevent enemy low level radar picking us up in future operations in the area.....

Some people asked to see some tacviews of past flight and I have never done that... so today I decided I would do just that as I had the tacview from the previous flight which I put up "Rapid Strike"... so watch that first and then what I go over in the tacview makes much more sense.



The video is really just some of my thoughts and ramblings of how we did the flight.... probably better tacviews in larger flights would have been better but the last on is fresh in my heads and others so used that instead.
