Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs Session 12

Upgrading the ship and testing my new pirate skills out in an Anarchy System. Kind of Wanted everywhere I usually hunt so thought I don't need the hassle of being bombarded by police on top of testing new kit.  Got some good hauls though. Tech Blueprints make me smile now!

Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs 11

The Pirate Logs Session 11 went under way this morning. It was really a money making session with a mix of bounty hunting and collecting illicit cargo's. The money is all going to a good cause mind you... My Cobra. Want rail-guns to quickly disable engines or knock down shields. Then get that limpet on there quick. They are expensive and not only that they draw a lot of power so a new Power Module is required too.

Got it all together though. Just, enough to get me started!

Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs Session 10

Last nights live stream. Started well Pirating some goods.... but things went bad by the end. One PVP the whole night and ended up be-friending him. Nice guy. Fairly sure that's not in the Pirate Code! He had nothing and was interested in Combat Zones, so he probably would have dealt me a finishing blow anyway!

PSN Beta Test Legal Doc

Well with my great idea of keeping you guys up to date with all PS4 3.00 Beta test... that ain't going to happen. Just been sent the legal docs. They state quite clearly I cannot. So, as a law abiding Digital Soul, I will not.




Quite interesting reading though..... That I can share....




1. The beta will be conducted in English. The game code, in-game news and updates, and any communication from us will be in English and your feedback must be provided in English.

2. You must be over 18 years of age and a SEN Master Account Holder to take part in a beta.

3. You must keep confidential all information relating to the beta software and the beta. You must not discuss the beta with anyone except us and other people taking part in the beta ("Beta Testers"). In particular, you must not discuss the beta with anyone associated with a competing videogame format or publisher, a news or information service (whether television, magazine, newspaper or otherwise) or in any online forum or chat room, other than our official beta forum. Any codes or passwords which give access to beta software or beta forums are personal to you and must not be shared with anyone else.

4. You must keep the beta software secure and in good condition. You are licensed to use the beta software on a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable, limited basis and you must only use it for the beta. You must not copy the beta software, give or sell it to anyone, try to reverse engineer it, nor use it to create derivative works.

5. At all times during the beta you must act lawfully, with respect towards other Beta Testers. The SEN Terms of Service and User Agreement applies to your participation in the beta (see eu.playstation.com/legal).

6. From time to time during the beta we may modify the test software and related content and services automatically and without notice. Modifications may cause loss of data or content and loss of function or utility. You hereby authorise us to make all such modifications and agree that, to the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any loss of data, content, function or utility.

7. We will use any personal information which you give us when you register or in the course of the beta to operate the beta and for research and analysis, in particular to improve the beta software and our other products and services, and in accordance with the SEN Privacy Policy (see eu.playstation.com/legal). You agree that we may contact you in connection with the beta and to collect your feedback on the beta software.

8. You agree that your suggestions for improvements, enhancements and other changes to the beta software, and our other products and services, and any material which you provide to us during the beta, will belong to us and may be implemented by us, in whole or in part, without any payment or other compensation to you or anyone else. If your suggestions are not your own original ideas, please do not submit them.

9. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel any beta or your access to any beta at any time in our absolute discretion. If we believe that you are in breach of any of these Terms or any other relevant terms, we may terminate your participation in any beta and the beta community or suspend or ban your SEN account.

10. To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms shall be construed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and the contract between you and us shall be deemed to have been formed and performed in England. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to any of our affiliates and sub-contractors without your consent provided that such assignment does not adversely affect your rights under these Terms.

PS4 Beta - I finally got accepted to test!

I finally got my invitation to start testing Sony PlayStation 4's 3.00 unreleased firmware. I have been dead excited to get this and will jump into it starting with tomorrow. I will keep you posted with new features that are available and let you all know my initial thoughts.

Borderlands 2 Hour 17 is up

So we are now in hour 17 of Borderlands 2 for the second play through. Finally we met up with one of the greatest characters in the whole game, Tiny Tina. Cool as cucumbers that chick. Pretty handy with explosives too.

Elite Dangerous The Pirate Logs (livestream 9)

So tonight's live-stream was pretty much a better night. I needed some quick credit as I overspent equipping the Cobra and left myself in a terrible situation where I had no insurance to cover the ship if things went sour. So a quick bounty hunt was in order. Once this was done I could actually upgrade my ship again and did the same thing twice. (Can't teach an old dog new tricks eh?)

Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs

Tongiht's live session did not really go as planned. Although by the end of it I had a new ship. A Cobra. Much required and this will probably be the ship for me for a very long time as it really suits my needs as a pirate extremely well.  The Viper was a great ship but fell short in many areas. Cargo, and mounts and possibilities of loadout adjustments all tied up in a package that actually can not even travel very far. It really is a short range fighter.

So the Cobra is everything that the Viper is not but on the downside is incredibly weak in the sheilds department. Money can change these downfalls so that will be tomorrows task.

Tonight we did not really gain much..... but we sure got some important things done for our Pirate Life.

Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs - Start Being A Pirate

Welcome to officially the first video in  "THE PIRATE LOGS" series. In these tutorial videos I will be showing how you can go from pacifist to Galaxy wide hated and feared as a Pirate. I will be breaking them all into relevant categories so you can further tune the skills you are going to require as a Pirate in Space.

So have a look at the first video above. This will get you started with the rudimentary basics. More in depth tutorials will merge as time passes. I, myself, am still learning and fine tuning this craft. As I learn, you will too.

Elite Dangerous: The Pirate Logs Prologue

Okay so the very moment you start in Elite Dangerous you are going to be set at a station, in high security space, and you will have been loaned a Sidewinder, with some ship equipment (Pulse lasers, light alloy armour, shields etc.) Someone has also deposited 1000 credits into your bank account. Not a bad way to start life.

Elite Dangerous: Pirate From Square One.

So as you all know or don't (love to state the obvious) I have done a great deal of tinkering and thinking about being a Pirate in Elite Dangerous and at the beginning of the week decided that this was the new role for me.

My initial experiences have been extremely poor. Not through any fault of the game but through my lack of understanding and general gung ho approach.

I said in my last post that I will be making some YouTube videos which will be all about becoming and being a Pirate with broken down sections of how to do this.  These will be called "The Pirate Logs".

So, to do this I really can't be telling people to fit this and fit that module when they have just started. Most will not have the credits or the knowledge of how to gain these credits. So with this in mind I deleted my account. Cremated my commander and singed my credits into the wishing well of all lost in space.

So square one. A Sidewinder and 1000 credits. All loaned. One will take this opportunity to go through the motions for all to learn. I will skip most of my mistakes and fill "The Pirate Logs with how I got it right.  Welcome guys to the new Pirate. Welcome to Elite Dangerous.

Elite Dangerous: Pirate Logs

So there I was in deep and I mean really deep space..... No comms to anyone, my beakon popping, LOCAL was empty on all chat from passers, and I could only hear my breath as I was on life support.  My cargo was load of rares, recently stolen rares. I had 2 jumps to go but no fuel scoop. Thrusters were offline anyway.... I was a dead duck..........

Being a new Pirate things have gone from bad to worse for me. I suppose this is the Pirate life. A continual struggle where poverty gets the better of you and actually having to steal becomes the option. (Not entirely true, as their is a rush strongly attached to the risk).

As I watched my life support timer dwindle away and my prayers for a miracle passer bye, I started to think.... "This adventure into piracy has cost me so far, 2 ships, 2 insurance claims, 1 load of cargo finally worth something, and even then, I was having to travel 160 light years to make it worth something, which, in turn, has left me without fuel in deep space!" This Pirate stuff was harder than I thought.

So within my dying breaths I decided, just like Mega-Mind, if I wasn't any good, then I would be as bad as they come, the bad-est Pirate of them all. "It's good to be bad".

This thought made me realize I needed to stop fumbling about in space and unknown territories. I needed to find somewhere that is used as a central hub. Somewhere that rares can be purchased. Somewhere fairly close to High Tech (my ship will need a polish) and somewhere close where I can hide and sell.

My life finally passed with a last couple of struggles and for some odd reason my ship blew up too. Thought that was odd. Was hoping my remains would be cocooned in ice for an eternity. Oh well. Cremated it is then.

I will be making the PIRATE LOGS a series from now on. I want to create a YouTube playlist on How To Pirate. I want to break each video into sections and I want to develop this career into something that could finally be profitable. So far, it has not been by a long shot.

I need to do a lot of research, and when I have more confidence and a method which returns results and BOOOOOOTY LOOOOOOTY, I will make the videos. So please have patience.... I am learning but I am learning the hard way. I do have a strong feeling it will hang mostly on location, location location.....and maybe some guns.

Will keep you all posted with this little adventure. I know others have written guides... but I really want to share my experience, my problems, and my learning curve and maybe this will be of use to others.  I want to break it down into manageable chunks and get others on the fast track to sinning.

Time to consider pirating in Elite Dangerous....

Well last night when I streamed I had a hiccup. A mental hiccup. I have so far in Elite Dangerous being minding my own business and cleaning up the wanted list and occasionally taking on missions.... Then in my travels last night I interdicted a Transporter. His good were only computer components and he had done nothing to upset me. I let him go. Here is the thing... I did take a while to let him go. I considered for a lot longer than one's morally acceptable to do so. I nearly became  A PIRATE.

So right now I am just about to fire up another episode of Elite Dangerous. After last nights thoughts...I am going to start looking into what is involved and would or could this be a life for me, It will undoubtedly open up new parts of the game for me. PVP for starters. PVE would be more of a gamble too and finding a ship with rare products would be like lottery winnings....

I am truly tempted so log on now if you wish to see me go live and fall beyond grace into a PIRATES life.......
