FALCON BMS: STRIKE ON A MIG BASE

Another flight under our belts in the Strong DPRK campaign. We take to the skies to engage an enemy base deep within their stronghold. Flying low we complete our OCA strike but almost missed the target completely as we lost sight of a road landmark which was to dictate our strike run entry. 

Men Of War Gameplay took 5 hours to complete....

We did a skirmish the other night and it took 5 hours to complete. We very nearly lost it a couple of times too. We all fought to the bitter end where we became more familiar with the gameplay and the game mechanics. It's a tough game but it sure is a lot of fun to play. Still occasionally suffering from frame rate issues though in multiplayer but I believe from the forums that I am very much not the only one.... Here is the screenshot of the end!

Called in to fly for Kaos over the Nordic's on a mission to destroy enemy assets deep into enemy territory. The mission was well planned but friendly losses were encountered. One of those losses was a Growler which made us vulnerable to a horrible SA-10.

In this mission I help my friend Lorik out on his North Korean campaign where we test the effectiveness of using an F-18 Super Hornet Growler to jam and deter radar lock on our F-16's.

We find our target and proceed to clean the kill box but on egress....things take a turn for the worse....

FALCON BMS: BFM "DOGFIGHTING TO DEATH"

Dogfight BFM training with one of the best in the business.... I still have a lot to comprehend, absorb and realise but slowly improvements are being made. Energy continues to plague me at altitude and reading the bandits energy also continues to be difficult. Tally is improving. Just practice and practice is required to refine these skills.



My 2V2 tournament starts tomorrow which entails a different methodology but once those missiles are launched....were back to the thick of it.....if.....I survive.....

FALCON BMS: NAVAL STRIKE (TASMO) MAVERICKS

Teaming up with Lorik again as my preferred wing-man long haul mission specialist. We are striking to Naval Patrol forces off the coast of Italy in the Adriatic Sea. Finding them was tough and due a mission plan diversion and fuel became critical. Running on vapours Viper 1-2 only just got fuel in time before becoming an expensive glider and we were to far out at sea to make land if it went wrong....makes for a tense refuel..... All in all we were airborne for about 3 hours and it was a very comm's heavy environments as we searched for the elusive patrols.

Excellent mission deep in enemy territory where we are searching to destroy a SAM nest. Things get hot and sweaty as the nest is extremely active. 13 missiles launched at us in total until we managed to destroy the radar system which was tracking us..... (Fan Song F)

It was tense but extremely enjoyable. Once again my F16 takes some damage and my flight lead (Kaos) looks after me and nurses me home.

DCS F 15C Radar TWS Mode

Decided to jump into the F-15 in DCS as Ripper said he would fly with me sometime..... some would say about time, nothing will replace Falcon BMS for me though....

Anyway, similar radar systems to the F-16 mostly generic. I did find this video which although didn't really help me for what I was looking for but  thought it was worth sharing as it does a wonderful narration and explanation for anyone else who wants to learn the radar system.

FALCON BMS: BLAZING GUNZ TOURNAMENT (PRANCING KILLER VS CODE)

Okay so for me the tournament came to an abrupt end as I faced Prancing Killer. I have enjoyed the tournament set up and coordinated by Sandman. I am very grateful to everyone who encouraged and helped me even compete. A lot to learn in the world of BFM but an essential part of learning anything is to take you kicks...get up and get on! I am improving but have been outclassed by the competition. More training, more studying, more TACVIEW and more thinking to come.....

FALCON BMS: BLAZING GUNZ TOURNAMENT (WURMINATOR VS CODE)

Firstly I would like to say this is my first tournament. Some of the pilots in this tournament are truly excellent. A fine bunch who all have been exceptionally helpful and have explained to me that they all went through the ass kicking tough times.

Both Wurminator and I are new to competitive tournament dogfights and we both know we are years away from competing at the top......

Perseverance, determination and a lot of eating bullets and listening to the other tell you how easy you made it for them.......plenty of pain ahead...but I have two of the best pilots/tutors in the game (Sandman and Sidewinder) and plenty of others willing to train me. In a privileged position!

FALCON BMS: HARRIER AV8 VISUAL TARGET

Mission Objective: Destroy enemy radar facility. Priority target is the Early Radar Warning System. The munitions used for this strike are Mk 83 1000lbs bombs.

Lap record lap for me in the Mazda. Nordschleife as the test bench once again. Enjoy the lap...can still improve on this time I feel with some further setup changes.

Providing Front Line Support which has been Pre-Planned as reports have come back that SA-9 Launchers are in the area. Our job is to neutralise the threats and then prioritise targets which could pose as a significant air threat to helicopters or other jets operating in the area.

FALCON BMS: SHADOW STRIKE (BANDITS CHASE)

Welcome to another Falcon BMS video. This mission was a deep strike behind enemy lines in a very heavily defended area. The target was a Early Warning Radar System and secondary targets were normal radar systems.


We fly over a heavily defended Croatia and cross the border into a more heavily defended Bosnia to make our strike.

An on-board and camera view of a hot lap I have done at the Nordschleife (Nurburgring) Tourist Track. The setup was pretty stiff and pretty wild to drive but was the only way I could compromise on a harder compound tyre.

FALCON BMS: AV8 HARRIER STRIKE: PUSHING THE LIMITS

Welcome to another Falcon BMS mission where today I am flying my other favourite aircraft the AV8-B+ Harrier Jump Jet.

We are taking the Harrier out on a mission which will stretch its' capabilities and also maximise its' use of ordinance that it can carry effectively in combat. We will strike a Administration building and also as a secondary, target a Factory Smelting Plant. These two targets are high priority and are safeguarded by a myriad of SAMs and anti aircraft artillery. Not only are we going to have to clear a path in we are also going to be surrounded by enemy jets in the air at the same time.

Timing was critical to this mission and patience paid off while we baited the enemy into making mistakes.

Avorion

Been playing Avorion for a week or two now. If you have not heard of this game then let me tell you to start reading about it now. The game is a cross between all of my favourites. Elite Dangerous, Eve Online, Space Engineers and seems to be and have almost everything. This is what No Mans Sky should have aimed for in the space side of their game. Real factions, real politics, real choosing sides, wars, epic ship battles, mining, salvaging, missions, ship design and a total freedom to make whatever the hell you want. Control other ships and build yourself a fleet....I can keep going....all of this is in this space universe open world sandbox. 

The game runs on old hardware, the multiplayer works brilliantly, and also they support Linux and I actually have a server running at my house as an Avorion Server. Works brilliantly. 

This game is still only in Beta... and early Beta at that.

It has been a long time since a game has impressed me this much.  Strongly recoomend it to anyone who wants to burn hours of their life away in the fantastic universe!

FALCON BMS: MIG'S SLOWING A FAST STRIKE

Falcon BMS mission OCA STRIKE Package 17809.

Mission is to destroy Pleso Airbase runway strip rendering it useless to enemy air forces. My wonderful TARCAP element did not arrive on the station in time and left my wing man and I to fight it out with some MIG-29 Fulcrums....

FALCON BMS: KILLING WITH CLUSTERS

Another mission in Falcon BMS. Striking an airport and our job is to neutralise a SA-2 radar guidance system called a Fan Song F. Once this has been done, fighters are clear to strike the airport without significant threat from surface to air missiles.

We will return in a later mission to remove the remaining threats and SA-2 batteries before they can replace the radar system.

Flying in a block 15 F16 which makes a change and will be returning to either a block 42 or 52 for future missions as I wait for their delivery at my new squadron.

FALCON BMS: SCUD KILLER

Another Falcon BMS video where I take on a pocket of SCUD missile launchers. Our mission is to remove the threats as they are close to the front lines and can be used against neighbouring friendly cities.

Assetto Corsa Nordschleife Nurburgring Corvette C7R

My  second session ever in a C7R Corvette. Made a few adjustments to the setup in the first session then took to the track. It is not the fastest time by any means and many mistakes are made as I not only learning the car but also trying to learn the track, and what a track it is.... Nordschleife.... takes some concentrating!

FALCON BMS: SURVIVING AGAINST THE ODDS

Flying  difficult mission where I have to engage a EWR (Early Warning Radar) system but doing it between to guarded aerodromes. Makes this a challenge and as you will see, although the F16 performs admirably, a sneaky SA-7 missile almost spells disaster for us. Thrilling engagements and accurate bomb drops are all in this mission. Enjoy.

DCS: DOGFIGHTER (BAE HAWK)

I take to the skies in a HAWK and test my dog-fighting skills with a range of different enemy aircraft including MIG29's and also the SU33.  

I recently purchased the Hawk and find it an exceptionaly wonderful jet to fly although it is largely underpowered against other jets. That also seems to be part of its charm as you have to plan and think ahead in a dogfight to prevent you bleeding off too much speed thuds making you vulnerable to the enemy.

DCS Gazelle Frontline War (SA342L)

A fast engagement between enemy forces who are pushing forward to try and take the local airport. Our mission is to prevent that advancement and to engage any forces which look to be moving from the South to the North. The fight sees us engage a MI-24 helicopter, tanks, and transport vehicles. Bullets are flying and we take some pretty nasty hull and structural damage but live to tell the tale.

FALCON BMS: MAVERICK ON A STRAIGHT FLUSH

Flying into the deep South well into and behind enemy lines we head with a complicated mission to destroy a Power factory which provides electricity to the local area. One problem, the power grid is situated right next to one of the most heavily  guarded airports in the area. The mission will see me attempt to disable their SAM's radar system so we can have the opportunity window to strike the power plant. Fuel is an issue, the enemy are strong in the area and we have flown previous missions just to get the path to this clear. Don't expect this to be easy.
